Helen Miles

The sports therapist at our clinic is Miss Helen Miles. She holds a degree in sports therapy BSc (Hons) and is a full member of the society of sports therapists. To be a member of the society of sports therapist you must have a degree in sports therapy. The society of sports therapists is aiming for state registration therefore anyone not achieving a degree standard qualification will soon not be able to call or work as a sports therapist.

Helen achieved her qualification at the university of Hertfordshire in 2007, from there she went on to work for Wycombe Wanderers FC as a sports therapist for the school of excellence, gained work experience with Nottinghamshire country cricket club at Trent bridge, and work experience with Beaconsfield football club and Brackley town Football Club. During 2008 Helen worked at the Ramsay Horton Treatment Centre on the Banbury hospital site assisting the physiotherapists for six months in orthopaedics ward (caring for NHS and private patients). During her time at the hospital Helen underwent courses in kinesio taping ran by kinesioUK (governing bodying in the UK for kinesio taping) and gained registered practitioner status. In Early 2009 Helen became a qualified NVQ 4 Sports and remedial massage therapist professional, she studied for this at the North London School of sports massage. Helen during achieving her massage qualification work with Coventry town FC to gain sports massage experience with the first team players and helping out the current Sports therapist there (Zoe Taylor BSc (Hons)). During 2009 Helen has worked with Brackley Town Football club on training nights and matches, various event work (triathlon and running events for PhysicalFix at Eton Dorney in the Windsor area) and has performed sports massages for the first team players at Nottinghamshire Country Cricket Club. Helen is now working as a freelance therapist for clubs, businesses and individuals.
